** Voters are clear. It's time for lawmakers to declare independence from the climate agenda.

The Hill ([link removed]) (6/30/23) reports: "While posturing as a champion of American freedom during his tour of Southern states this past spring, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) left out that part about how his own administration is attempting to force an expensive climate agenda onto a public that really just does not want it. In fact, news coverage of Newsom’s visits to Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama suggest that he steered clear of energy policy altogether while lecturing his fellow governors about what he describes as the 'authoritarian' tendencies of certain other governors who are running for president. That might be because the average citizens whom Newsom claims to represent reject his climate schemes and the government mandates that go with them, at least when they are asked clear questions. Two free-market advocacy organizations — the American
Energy Alliance ([link removed]) and the Maryland-based Committee to Unleash Prosperity ([link removed]) — released a straightforward survey ([link removed]) of 1,000 likely voters last month. It showed that, by a wide margin, respondents favored affordable energy over climate policies that raise energy costs and limit consumer choices. When voters were asked the open-ended question of what the 'most pressing issue' is facing the U.S., climate change barely registered. Most people were chiefly concerned about practical questions, such as inflation and the economy."

** "Just as many Americans enjoy driving electric vehicles, others prefer gasoline-powered cars. Their choice of cars should be preserved."

(7/1/23) reports: "The White House has opened the door to an audacious plan to block sunlight from hitting the surface of the Earth in a bid to halt global warming. Despite some scientists warning the effort could have untold side effects from altering the chemical makeup of the atmosphere, President Joe Biden's administration have admitted they're open to the idea, which has never been attempted before. In a report released Friday by the White House, officials suggested limiting sunlight to rapidly cool the planet, a process known as solar radiation modification (SRM). The report noted several ways authorities could look to achieve SRM, all of which come with potentially devastating consequences if they backfire. One method would be to significantly increase the amount of aerosols in the stratosphere, which would reflect the sun's rays from the planet. Other ideas floated included increasing cloud coverage over oceans or reducing the amount of cirrus cloud formations, which reflect solar
radiation back to the Earth. "
Increasingly clear the White House is not reviewing the survey data we sent them. This is not what voters want to prioritize!

(6/27/23) reports: "A new White House team to coordinate efforts to reduce plastic pollution will address the needs of overburdened communities, the Biden administration’s point person on the issue said Tuesday. Jonathan Black, senior director for chemical safety and plastic pollution prevention at the Council on Environmental Quality, said the interagency policy committee would include the Agriculture, Energy, and State departments and the Environmental Protection Agency. Plastic pollution disproportionately affects communities with environmental justice concerns, such as people of color and Indigenous groups, Black said at a panel hosted by the Environmental Law Institute. 'The Biden-Harris Administration recognizes this connection and is committed to ensuring that federal actions to address plastic pollution prioritize public health, economic development, and equity,' he said. Black said he is the first White House official to specifically have plastic pollution in his title."
Hope you're charging yours on the street and not inside a garage!
Cowboy State Daily (7/2/23) reports: "Experts in rural firefighting say that electric vehicle fires require so much water that in some cases it’s better to just let them burn. In a rural state like Wyoming, trucking in the water needed to fully extinguish the fire isn’t always the best solution. 'An electric vehicle battery fire is not a traditional fire,' Curt Yanish, a volunteer firefighter with the Sublette County Unified Fire District, told Cowboy State Daily. Anticipating more electric vehicles (EV) on the road, Yanish said he’s been trying to keep up on how to fight lithium-ion battery fires and pass on what he knows to the other firefighters. The batteries don’t need oxygen to burn, so there’s really no way to smother an EV battery fire. 'All we can do is cool the battery to the point that the burning reaction stops. Our best tool for that is water,' Yanish said. The way the batteries are grounded, Yanish added, prevents an electric shock hazard to firefighters pouring water on it."
