Climate change is the fight of our lives. We have to move quickly. Deliberately. And we need to bring everyone into the fight.
For too long, communities that have been most affected by climate change, pollution and environmental degradation have been left out of the conversation about solutions - black and brown communities, immigrant communities, indigenous communities, working-class communities.
That's why Joe introduced the Voices for Environmental Justice Act in the House this week. It will:
Empower frontline communities with legal protection when toxic facilities are being built in their communities.
Create a federal grant program for low-income communities and communities of color to hire independent experts to participate in the environmental decisions affecting that community's health and safety.
Demand transparency and accountability for corporations when starting projects in frontline communities.
Every family deserves clean air and clean water. Every community deserves basic health and safety. And every one of us deserves a planet that will be there for our kids and grandkids.
This bill will help ensure the people most at risk are at the table when decisions about their future - our future - are being made. Sign your name now to become an original citizen co-sponsor of Joe's Voices for Environmental Justice Act:

We need environmental and climate justice. And we need it now. For our planet -- and our people.
