Celebrating the U.S. Air Force's Selection of Moody AFB as the Preferred Location to Host F-35 Mission
For decades, Moody AFB has been key for our nation’s defense, and I am pleased that Secretary Kendall has selected Moody as the preferred location for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
I've met several times over the years with multiple Air Force Secretaries and Air Force Chiefs of Staff to advocate for the F-35s as a replacement for the A-10s here at Moody, given the pending retirement of the A-10s.
Moody is proud to maintain a fighter mission, carrying its strong legacy long into the 21st century.

Congressional App Challenge Opening
Georgia's Eighth District has highly talented students who are leading the way in STEM programs, and I'm excited to announce the start of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge. This annual, nationwide competition engages students' creativity and encourages their participation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
The Congressional App Challenge allows students to compete with peers throughout their congressional district by creating and exhibiting an original software application, or "app," for web, PC, tablet, mobile, or other platforms of their choice. The Congressional App Challenge is open to all middle and high school students in Georgia's Eighth District. Students or classrooms can form teams, and those entering the competition must submit their app by November 1, 2023.
The winner will be chosen by a panel of expert judges, featured on the Congressional App Challenge website, and displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building.
I encourage everyone to participate in the Congressional App Challenge, and I look forward to reviewing your submissions.

Accepting Internship Applications
My office is seeking full-time and part-time Fall 2023 interns in our Washington D.C. Office.
A qualified candidate should possess strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrate an interest in public service. Interns will be expected to fulfill the regular duties of a Congressional intern and may also receive opportunities to assist the Legislative and Communications Staff. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a Congressional office. Generally, the office hours run from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM when Congress is in session and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM when not in session.
Georgia ties are preferred, and the deadline to apply for the Fall 2023 internship is July 14th.
More information and applications can be found here.
