SBA OIG Reports Show COVID Relief Aid Money Stolen

During COVID-19, the U.S. Small Business Administration was tasked to help save our nation’s small businesses and job creators. Unfortunately, recent reports by the SBA Office of Inspector General show the agency was not up to the task, resulting in 1 in 5 loans disbursed being labeled as potentially fraudulent. We cannot allow the SBA to overlook $200,000,000,000 stolen from the taxpayers. Click here to watch on NewsNation.

TX-25 District Highlights

I had the opportunity to visit the Texas Health Resources Arlington Memorial Hospital to participate in a roundtable and meet with local healthcare leaders to hear about their legislative priorities and tour the emergency department.

Also, in Arlington, I met with Kroger's local pharmacy leadership and staff at their local store to hear about the issues they are facing, tour the facilities, and thank them for all they do to serve our community.

I visited the Burleson Fire Department, where I was presented with a Station 16 canvas which will be hung in my Arlington office. Fire Station 16 is dedicated in honor of Dawson Barnes, a Burleson Centennial student who lost his life in a car accident in 2019. It was an honor to visit with the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to keep the citizens of Burleson safe.

ImageIt was great to visit with the Fort Worth Chamber to share the work I am doing in D.C. to support businesses and discuss their concerns about the ongoing rise in interest rates, increased regulation and taxes, and the broken supply chain.

Supreme Court Stands with the American People

The Supreme Court of the United States announced several monumental decisions in Washington this week.

Six Supreme Court justices stood for American ideals and I applaud their rulings. The Court overturned affirmative action in college admissions, ensuring that admissions are granted based solely on merit, not race, restoring fairness in the education system and giving every student the opportunity to succeed.

Since his first day in office, President Biden has acted in lockstep with the radical left to magically waive student loans, putting the burden on the pocketbooks of hard-working families. As of this week, we no longer will require the 210 million Americans who made sound financial decisions to pay for those who are unwilling to pay off debt they racked up.

In one of their final rulings of the week, the Court ruled in favor of our 1st Amendment Rights. No business should be forced by the government to perform a service that goes against their beliefs. Following today’s decision, the American people can live without the fear of government retaliation for not caving to the woke left.

These decisions show why elections are so important, Donald Trump appointed three justices currently serving on the Supreme Court, making it the most conservative court in U.S. history. Thank you, President Trump!

In God we trust,

Roger Williams
