Tuesday marks 247 years since the United States declared independence.
In that many years, we’ve still yet to achieve equal freedoms for all Americans — including through equal access to the ballot box. As we know, the ever-changing barriers to voting continue to be more severe for Black and brown folks. So this Fourth of July, we’re thinking about the work ahead to push our nation towards a more honest and inclusive pursuit of freedom.
We each deserve the freedom to vote, the freedom to make choices about our own bodies, and the freedom to live authentically, without discrimination. As extremists continue to wage attacks on each of those freedoms as we speak, it’s clear that the road ahead will be long and steep — but Fair Fight Action is deeply committed to that fight for our democracy. We’re so grateful that you’re right there alongside us.
Time and time again, we’ve seen that Americans can bring about change when we fight for it. Let’s keep fighting for our country and our government to truly live up to its potential, by protecting the sacred freedom to vote.
Together,
The Fair Fight Action Team
