Dear friend,
The 4th of July is almost here, and as we celebrate every Independence Day with family, Let's take time to reflect on our nation, it's history, and what it means.
The American experiment is one of freedom, and like most experiments, it can be messy.
Our founding fathers risked treason and execution to forge this nation. They decided that as one people, we would throw off the chains of the old world and the monarchy and their way of doing things.
Democracy was a radical, extreme idea for its time, but we are reminded of Barry Goldwater's famous quote. He said:
"I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!"
Think of the young men and women who risked everything, and gave their lives, to defend liberty and pursue justice with their whole heart and soul. They laid down their lives to sacrifice for liberty, justice and the American way.
We endured so many trials and injustices, and overcame tyranny, slavery, Fascism and Communism. Though we have never been perfect, America has always been working to make our nation and our world a better place. We have fought to overcome every challenge before us.
We may not be perfect, but we truly believe America is the best example of freedom and justice, and that there is no better nation on earth. We are so proud to be Americans and hope you never let anyone cast shame on you for being a patriotic American, or for proudly flying our flag.
Happy Independence Day, God bless you, and God bless the USA.
