We can’t hold off any longer:
At $7.25 an hour -- the current federal minimum wage -- a person working full-time all year taking no vacation or sick days earns $15,080 a year. That's about $10,000 below the poverty line for a family of four and about a third of what one would need to make to feasibly afford an average two bedroom apartment.
Nancy Pelosi led House Democrats in passing a $15 minimum wage almost seven months ago, but Mitch McConnell is stonewalling.
