I’m reaching out because we had a goal of raising $15,000 before last
night’s end-of-quarter deadline, and we came up just short. While that
does mean we’re starting the new quarter behind, it’s not too late to
catch up.

Reaching these goals is a really important part of supporting our
newsrooms in eight battleground states. If you’d like to know more, make

I talked to Ben this morning (our new Finance Director) and he let me know
that we’re just shy of our $15,000 end-of-quarter goal.

our goal and end this quarter on a strong note. So can you pitch in $8 or
any amount right now to help us get there?

Here’s a quick summary of why this is so important:

* All of our stories are free to read. Reaching this goal means no
paywalls – ever.
* Our journalists pick up the mainstream media’s slack, and reaching
this goal means we can hire more of them.
* We operate in ‘news deserts’ in 8 battleground states, and reaching
this goal means we can open more newsrooms in more states.

There’s a lot of money behind misinformation, and we’re counting on
grassroots donors like you to help us fund reliable, fact-based journalism
in the communities that need it most.
