John,
Who benefits from the GOP Tax Scam 2.0? The poorest fifth of U.S. taxpayers would get an average tax cut of just $40 next year. Meanwhile, foreign investors and the richest 1% would walk away with more than $50 billion in U.S. tax handouts―and that number would grow significantly if these tax breaks were made permanent.[1]
This 4th of July weekend, remind Congress that there is nothing patriotic about tax handouts to foreign investors and the richest 1%. Click here to send a message to your representative and demand that they reject the tax package passed by Republican tax-writers.
Instead of giving more tax handouts to the rich and corporations, Congress should be helping working families by expanding the Child Tax Credit and ending the scandal of tax-free billionaires by enacting the Billionaire Minimum Income Tax proposed by President Biden.
Republicans claim their tax package would cost “just” $80 billion. But when combined with the Trump Tax Scam and when all of their tax cuts are made permanent―which is their ultimate goal―these tax cuts mostly for the rich and corporations would come in at a whopping $4 trillion.
Republicans pay for these tax cuts by proposing cuts to Social Security, Medicare, housing, nutrition, education, and much, much more.
Click here to send a message to your representative today. Tell them that it’s unpatriotic to pass tax cuts for foreign investors and the richest 1% on the backs of working people and families.
Together, we’re fighting back against the GOP Tax Scam 2.0 that seeks to make permanent tax cuts for the rich and corporations and that leaves working people behind.
Thank you for taking meaningful action this 4th of July,
David Kass
