"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."

– Colossians 3:12
Africa & Europe

Last week in Kenya we remembered the deaths of Willie, Joseph and Josephat, who were killed in their fight for justice in a case of police abuse of power in 2016. This year was different from previous memorials we had held for them, because this year we have finally seen justice delivered in the case against the police officers responsible for their murders. We commemorated our friends with a march from the Supreme Court of Kenya to the courtroom where the trial had run for more than six years, joined by other activists, survivors of police abuse, the Law Society of Kenya, the government oversight authorities and representatives from the police and judiciary. Join us in our prayers of thanks for the legacy that has been inspired by Willie, Joseph and Josephat, in which change that had
appeared impossible has begun to come to fruition. Pray that the calls for further change–for an end to delayed justice in other cases of police abuse–would be carried forward by the authorities.
Latin America

Praise God for a fair for Guatemalan elementary students in Quetzaltenango, organized by a group of community organizations and supported by IJM. Approximately 125 children and 25 teenagers visited several stands where they learned about the services that organizations and community actors provide to victims of violence. Children listened attentively and received printed materials, and teachers acquired tools to be able to identify cases of violence. The fair was a great success!
South Asia

Pray for our teams as they develop a brand new media strategy to spotlight bonded labor slavery. We are hoping to awaken a diverse pool of government officials, community organizations and the public to the reality of slavery and trafficking. Pray we can make great connections with journalists and map out a wise strategy for sharing these critical stories in a safe way.
Asia Pacific

Please pray for a judgement hearing this week involving the owner of a factory who pled guilty to forced labor charges. We pray specifically that the nine survivors would be fairly compensated for everything they have undergone. These individuals were repatriated to their home country in June, and we are praying fervently for opportunities for each survivor to make a living and thrive in freedom.
IJM Global Office & Partners

The IJM global office is located in the United States. IJM has Partner Offices in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Join us in praying for our American colleagues as they celebrate the Fourth of July this week. We pray for rest, joy and cherished moments with loved ones during this week. May God's guiding hand protect them, and may they be able to reflect on the freedoms they enjoy as citizens of the United States.

The updates we share on survivors or their cases can become sensitive over time. To respect and protect
them,
please refrain from posting these prayer requests online.
