First Roger Stone. Now Michael Flynn. Instead of supporting his dedicated prosecutors, Attorney General William Barr is interfering with the work of his own department ... and is delighted to act as Donald Trump's personal henchman.

I'm calling for Attorney General William Barr's immediate resignation, and I need you to join me.

Barr is gravely corrupting American justice. This week, he used the power of the Department of Justice to try to weaken the sentencing recommendation for Trump's convicted crony, Roger Stone. In protest, all four DOJ prosecutors withdrew from the case, with one choosing to resign from the department entirely.

Yesterday, Barr installed an outside prosecutor to review the criminal conviction against Trump's disgraced national security advisor, Michael Flynn. And The New York Times writes that Barr "has also installed a handful of outside prosecutors to broadly review the handling of other politically sensitive national-security cases in the U.S. attorney's office in Washington."

This brazen assault on the independence and integrity of our federal law enforcement agency is absolutely unprecedented and unacceptable.

Will you stand with me on the right side of history as we fight for justice and accountability? Will you sign my petition to demand Attorney General Barr's immediate resignation for undermining the independence and integrity of the Department of Justice?

Ever since my four and half years as U.S. Attorney for the State of Connecticut, I have kept the Department of Justice's seal hanging on my wall as a reminder of how important it is for our law enforcement agencies to be entirely independent from political interests. Barr is acting simply as a political operative – or to be frank, a henchman – for President Trump, who has made it clear that he's always wanted an Attorney General who would do his bidding.

We must stand up and fight against this political interference and abuse of power from Trump and Barr. I refuse to let up in this fight to hold them accountable, and I'm counting on you to be right by my side:
