This week, my office made two exciting federal funding announcements. On Monday, I shared news that the state of Georgia will receive over $1.3 billion in federal broadband funding from the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program. Families rely on access to broadband for every part of their lives, and I am proud that our work on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is making such a difference across the state.
On Tuesday, I was thrilled to announce that the Gwinnett County Department of Transportation will receive $20 million to support the replacement of the Gwinnett Place Transit Center. I advocated my support for this funding to Secretary Buttigieg earlier this year, and I am so pleased that the Administration recognizes the importance of this federal investment in the future of transit in our community. Congratulations, Gwinnett!
