CAMPAIGN: ARMS FAIR MOVES TOWN (TO TELFORD), CHANGES NAME, RESISTANCE
CONTINUES (ZOOM MEETING, 4 JULY 7PM)

The Malvern Arms Fair has left town and changed its name [1], following
determined protests by local campaigners,

The arms fair formerly known as 3CDSE is due to take place in Telford, 1st
& 2nd November 2023. Now called SDSC-UK, "Specialist Defence and Security"
it is focused on equipping elite soldiers or "operators" to wage war in
Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Somalia and other countries.

Three Counties CAAT, who helped coordinate the Malvern campaign, are
inviting anyone interested in resisting the Telford fair to their next
meeting on Tues 4 July 7pm to share what they have learned. Email
[email protected] or reply to this note for the Zoom details.

TRAINING: SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT LOBBYING DROP-IN (ZOOM DROP, IN 4 JULY)

The Scottish government has provided over £8m in public grants to arms
companies that profit from conflict and repression. This summer CAAT will
be hosting three drop-in sessions for supporters to find out about how to
lobby their elected representative

MEDIA: NEW FILM ON THE UK INVOLVEMENT IN SYRIA

London CAAT with film makers Rainbow Collective have launched a new film,
"Arms Sales to Dictators, Displacement and Militarised Borders [4]"

You can watch the film [5] on YouTube [5]!

There was also a brilliant panel discussion [6] for the launch event which
you may not have seen, featuring speakers Les Levidow (Peace in Kurdistan)
and Matt Broomfield (Kurdish Solidarity Network), and chaired by London
CAAT's Sam Forrest-Sufrin, who scripted and voiced the film.

You can see past films and panel discussions on the CAAT YouTube channel
[7],

REPORT: CORNWALL SAYS NO TO ARMED FORCES DAY

Armed Forces Day took place in Falmouth, Cornwall on 24th June 2023. CAAT,
alongside national and local groups, including the Peace Pledge Union,
Forces Watch, Demilitarise Education, Cornwall Resists and local and
national Quakers, were on the streets to show that people were not prepared
to stand by and let the military take over the streets of Falmouth.

REPORT: CITY HALL - MAYOR OF LONDON TOLD TO STOP BAE SYSTEMS ADVERTISING

Westminster Station. Thank you to all who signed and shared. Find out more
via the article on the CAAT blog [9].

You can watch what happened via the video on CAAT's YouTube Channel [10]:

You might like to email the Mayor of London, and ask him to support the
