Hey Friend, Annette here with Battle Born Progress one last time! Today is my last day with our organizations and I just wanted to write a quick note to let you know how much I appreciate all of our supporters and volunteers. It has been 10 amazing years of doing this critical work by your side and I could not have done it without you all. I am so proud of everything we accomplished together and how we wrapped up this most recent legislative session so incredibly strong! Some of the things that I look back on as my proudest accomplishments here are things like growing our incredible team from 2 people to 12 people, helping plan and pull off the first same-sex marriage in the state’s history, killing the voucher scheme (multiple times now), all of our media and rapid response work, my years on Politics Now (and many other shows too) as a commentator, Out In Front and what it took to keep that going until this day, all of our voting rights bills over the years, helping to create a Communications Hub in our state for Progressives, all of our critical work on gun violence prevention, the growth of our Progressive Summit, hosting Presidential and Vice Presidental candidates at so many events over the years, our voter outreach and education work, our voter protection work, our Voter Guide and Ballot guide, all of my time at the Nevada Legislature testifying on good bills and holding people accountable and so SO much more! This list could literally go on for days! I've spent the last few weeks reflecting on what these organizations have meant to me. When I got here they were small but mighty and now they are a force to be reckoned with and that is because of our team and all of you. You always supported our mission and my vision and I could not be more proud of all we have done together. I wanted to let you know that I am leaving you all in the most capable hands I can think of with Shelbie Swartz as the Interim Executive Director and Maria-Teresa Liebermann-Parraga who will continue on as our Deputy Director. I want to give them both a huge shoutout for taking this on and helping me transition these organizations so we will not miss a beat. I am so excited to see where they and the rest of our team will take these organizations in the future! I also want to let you know that I will not be going far. As I told you all in April when I made my announcement, I plan to take a break and spend time with Nick, the dogs, and my tortoises, but after the new year, I plan to be right back in our community and back in the work. If you need to reach me for any reason - I am always here for you as a volunteer or cheerleader for progressive issues. My personal email is [email protected] and you can reach me there anytime because I want to stay in touch with you! I would not be a good outgoing Executive Director if I did not make one final ask of all of you! Please make a donation today to celebrate our time together and this next chapter of these wonderful and important organizations. I will continue to support their work and their missions and I hope you will too! With that, I say until we meet again because I am Battle Born forever and I will never be far away. Thank you for being you.
