Pray for magistrates in Uganda to have sensitivity to the experience of survivors of violence. Women and children who have experienced violence face discouragement from all sides if they choose to pursue a case against the abuser, and the way they are treated by law enforcement and in the courtroom can impact their willingness to participate in the court process. Pray that judicial staff would be open to learning how to handle these cases with sensitivity, and that the women and children who bravely testify against abusive persons in court would feel safe and supported throughout the process.

Country Director in the Dominican Republic. This person will lead IJM's work combatting sex trafficking in the DR, and will scale rescue and protection for vulnerable children. Pray that God would grant the recruiting team wisdom and discernment, and that this crucial role would be filled promptly.

Praise God for 204 people freed in a rescue operation at a brick kiln this week! These children, women and men had been trafficked across the country and forced to work long hours making thousands of bricks. Some had been trapped for just a few weeks; others for up to five years. This was a difficult operation to conduct due to its size and the power of the kiln owners, but God provided and our government partners did a fantastic job. Pray for these survivors as they begin returning home and getting the long-term aftercare they need.

Please pray for our IJM Cebu team to find strong candidates for key investigations positions. The Cebu office is eagerly praying for four new staff to join the Investigations and Law Enforcement Development team — pray that they will find people who will strengthen our relationship with local law enforcement officials and help equip them to identify cases and rescue victims.

Pray with us as we launch two major technology projects intended to redesign the IT systems we use to track our Field Office work and budgets. Being able to report on how our work impacts local communities and also have insight on the global problem of slavery is critical to helping us scale our solution to end slavery and violence against those who are poor. Pray for the teams that have just started these complicated projects that will take a full two years to roll out globally.
