Dear John,
I didn’t want to write this email. I honestly hoped I could avoid it. Some people and groups have been taking shots at me and Texas Values lately. Some have even attacked me personally. I guess they think they can scare me. I guess they don’t know that I am 5th generation Texan and I come from King Ranch cowboys and military service, and from a million drops of sweat from working in the sun in Texas, and from the first churches established in Texas. They must not know that when I was a law student, I sued my university for trying to block my free speech and religious rights for the pro-life group I was leading at the University of Houston, and we won! I guess they don’t know that when we hired the 15 members of our Texas Values team we made sure they were the best, and that they were grounded in rock-solid Christian faith and courage. Take Action now by midnight!!
Look, it’s important for you to know that I WILL NEVER BACK DOWN. NEVER, EVER. As a man, as a Texan and as a Christian, I will always stand firm and I will often push back to protect what’s right, and do what’s right with God on my side. And I will always fight for Texas, and for our shared Christian values.
But what about you? My team and I can’t do this work on our own. You can’t just say it with words or a cute social media post, you have to mean it with a donation. I need you to step up now, before midnight tonight. If Texas Values is strong, Texas is strong. Click the link here to donate! https://donate.txvalues.org/GiveToTexasValues
We are way behind on our donations, and our fiscal year-end is today/tonight at midnight. But we still have $50,000 left on our matching grant. We really need to raise $100,000 between now and midnight tonight. Can I count on you? We have 200,000 people on our email list. If just 10% of you (20,000) give $5 or more, we will reach our $100,000 goal by midnight. Our overall budget is nearly 2 million. But maybe you can give $100, $250, $500 or $1000 to cover your fellow Texan who is having a tough year. One way or another, we need to get there. Please give now!!
Thank you and God Bless Texas-Jonathan Saenz
