John,

Earlier this month, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Allen v. Milligan that Alabama Republicans engaged in illegal mapdrawing that disenfranchised African Americans by diluting the power of Black voters. This means Alabama must now draw new, fair maps with an additional congressional district where Black voters can elect a candidate of their choice before the next election. It also means the NDR PAC’s work to elect leaders who will fight for fair maps just became even more urgent.

This is a critical moment for the NDR PAC, and we’re counting on grassroots supporters to power our efforts nationwide. Will you donate before the end-of-quarter deadline at midnight tonight?

Ahead of last November’s elections, our movement helped secure what the New York Times called “the fairest House map of the last 40 years.” Now, we have an opportunity to secure even fairer maps before the 2024 elections – but we must act quickly.

Voters in states like Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas have also challenged their congressional maps on the basis of racial gerrymandering or vote dilution. The Court’s decision in Milligan sends a strong indication that these states could also be required to draw new, fair maps before the 2024 elections.

Still, we know Republicans will fight tooth and nail to preserve their gerrymanders so they can hold on to unearned power. This is why it’s so critical for the NDR PAC to continue supporting candidates who will protect fair map victories, prevent Republican map manipulation, and propel toward fair redistricting both now and in the future.

We’re officially halfway through 2023, and our window of opportunity to support candidates who will fight for fair maps is quickly closing. So please: Will you make a donation by midnight tonight to power the NDR PAC’s democracy-saving work nationwide?

Our country has taken an important step toward equal voting power and representation for voters of color – not just in Alabama, but all across the country.

I hope I can count on you to pitch in before tonight’s midnight deadline to help the NDR PAC continue working to elect leaders who will fight for fairness. Anything you give will help us reach our end-of-quarter goal.
