Hi Team,

Congresswoman Hillary Scholten here from Michigan’s 3rd congressional district – I’m reaching out to introduce myself and tell you about my home in West Michigan, as well as ask you to join my team’s efforts in helping keep West Michigan safe from extremist Republicans.

In 2022, Michigan won big by electing a Democratic trifecta in the state legislature, amending the state's constitution to protect reproductive rights, and helping flip this seat. And I want to thank Democratic supporters across the country, like you, for all your generosity to make that happen. Now, for the first time in nearly 50 years, West Michigan is represented in the US Congress by a Democrat, and, for the first time ever, by a woman.

Since the 2022 election, my work hasn’t stopped. I have had the pleasure of joining my freshman leadership team in Congress, as well as getting my top committee assignments and working with President Biden to tackle our country’s child labor crisis. Through these opportunities, I have held the importance of restoring normalcy, common sense, and compassion to Congress close to heart.

But if I am going to have the opportunity to keep this work going, me and my team are going to need your support. We can’t afford to have a repeat of 2016, when folks thought Michigan was safe and allowed Trump to win. The National Republican Congressional Committee has already targeted my seat and has been gearing up to drop whatever amount of cash is required to back MI-03. The west side of my district is home to extremist Republicans and militia groups who support candidates like John Gibbs, who, if given a chance, would roll back our democratic progress by generations!

So please, Team: West Michigan deserves to have a common-sense leader representing them in Congress, and not a candidate who is focused on stripping a woman’s right to vote and a person's right to choose. I am prepared to be that person, but your support is crucial for holding this seat.
