Irving, TX - This week, I helped lead a letter to Administrator Regan of the Environmental Protection Agency to push back against a proposed new regulation and its potentially adverse impacts on small businesses. This could cost small businesses up to $10 million to implement, an outrageous expense and a slap in the face to small business owners who are already feeling the pain of inflation.

I will always stand up for North Texans by fighting against the bureaucratic red tape that makes it harder for entrepreneurs to make payroll and for families to put food on the table.

I appreciate all the hard work put in by our bright young interns in our D.C. and Addison, TX offices. I want to thank Rohan, a North Texan who recently interned in our D.C. office, for his dedication to serving the people of Texas-24! We wish him all the best as he enters his senior year of college.

It was a pleasure to meet with Wyatt, a 12-year-old from Colleyville, who won an award from Constituting America for the impressive website he created to teach people about the U.S. Constitution! You can check it out here.

When I visited the Southwest Transplant Alliance in Dallas last month, I was appalled to learn that bureaucratic red tape is preventing viable organs from reaching patients in need. That's why I introduced the Saving Organs One Flight at a Time Act, which offers common-sense reforms to improve the air transportation of human organs.

This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is recently retired North Richland Hills Police Chief, Jimmy Perdue!

After 40 years in law enforcement, Chief Perdue retired from the North Richland Hills Police Department, where he served as Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety for 17 years. Along with supervising the North Richland Hills Police Department as Chief, Chief Perdue also provided direct supervision to the Fire, Emergency Management, Fleet, Facilities, Neighborhood Services, Municipal Court, and Economic Development departments over the years.

I want to thank Chief Perdue for his decades of service, leadership, and commitment to keeping our North Texas communities safe. I wish you all the best in retirement!

Save the date! On August 7th, our office is hosting another North Texas Job fair at the Irving Convention Center. Our 2021 job fair brought together more than 200 businesses and thousands of job seekers and we’re set to top that this year! Some of our participants are Amazon, TxDOT, FC Dallas, CHRISTUS Health, AT&T, Children’s Health, Holt CAT, and Parkland Health.
