I wanted to be sure you saw this, John:
Social Security Works is planning to make a stand to save Medicare on July 30th. Right now, greedy private health care corporations have used Medicare Advantage to suck seniors back into privatized care, and the delays and denials are killing people.
July 30 is Medicare's anniversary. That's one month from today. Can you rush a donation to help us build capacity for this event? We're going to make it big.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately:

John,
“Medicare Advantage” is a program that allows private insurance companies to cover people with Medicare. In 2023, more than half of all people with Medicare are covered under privatized Medicare Advantage plans.
Private insurance companies, including Medicare Advantage plans, are designed to generate profit. How do they do that? Take our money and then deny our care.
People with Medicare deserve better―we pay in with every paycheck, and we need Medicare to be there when we need it.
The anniversary of Medicare is coming up on July 30―and Social Security Works is launching a campaign to address the rot at the heart of private Medicare Advantage plans. Can you chip in $7 to get corporate greed OUT of Medicare?
Recent investigations from ProPublica1 and The Lever2 have shown the extent to which Medicare Advantage’s delays and denials are driving corporate profits and leaving people without the care they deserve.
The Lever even spoke with a former Republican state representative whose experiences with private Medicare Advantage insurers drove her from libertarianism into full-fledged support for Medicare for All.
Medicare Advantage plans lure seniors in with expensive advertising campaigns, and by offering services that traditional Medicare cannot―like dental, vision, and long-term care. But once seniors choose Medicare Advantage, the harsh reality of private insurance comes for them. Delays and denials pad private insurance profits―and they kill seniors.
Can you help us get corporate greed out of Medicare? Donate $7 to launch Social Security Works’s campaign!
Thank you,
Michael Phelan Social Security Works
