** JUNE 2023 NEWSLETTER 📰
------------------------------------------------------------
Hi John,

My name is Beleza Chan and I am the Director of Development and Communications at Immigrants Rising. I first connected to Immigrants Rising in 2007 through the organization’s first and only program available at that time—the New American Scholars Program. Since then, I’ve participated in many different projects and programs, such as creating the first list of scholarships for undocumented students, launching the Immigration Legal Intake Service program, and co-leading the Life Outside the U.S. project.

I am so proud of what Immigrants Rising has become. This year, we’re celebrating our 15-year anniversary and we’re excited to reflect on our individual and collective journeys, commemorate our wins, and envision a beautiful new era of undocumented immigrant power.

As part of our 15-year anniversary activities, we’ve created two fabulous multimedia storytelling projects: The Future is Undocumented ([link removed]) and Behind the Menu ([link removed]) . I found these stories very moving and I hope you do too!

Additionally, check out below for the newest resources and media that were published in June.

** Congratulations to Katharine Gin for receiving special recognition at the Immigrant Leadership Awards
------------------------------------------------------------
During this Immigrant Heritage Month, Katharine Gin was recognized at the Immigrant Leadership Awards ([link removed]) hosted by the San Francisco Immigrant Rights Commission and the San Francisco Office of Civic Engagement & Immigrant Affairs (OCEIA). Kathy is stepping down as our Executive Director ([link removed]) this month, and we only have appreciation and love for her. We thank her for creating a space for many undocumented individuals to thrive, and continuing to support the undocumented immigrant community in different capacities.
