Reselection and boundary changes




I am delighted to have been reselected to stand for Hexham at the next General Election under the newly proposed constituency boundaries. The independent Boundary Commission adjust Parliamentary constituencies at regular intervals to ensure each constituency has a similar number of voters.

As a result, at the next election, the Hexham Constituency will gain the Northumberland divisions of Longhorsley, parts of Ponteland North, and the Newcastle Ward of Callerton and Throckley.

** 1000 new defibrillators to save lives
------------------------------------------------------------

Funding has been delivered for 1000 new community defibrillators. Rapid access to a defibrillator is the difference between life and death. That's why I'm encouraging community organisations across Tynedale and Ponteland to apply for the funding.

A stronger NHS is one of my six priorities for Tynedale and Ponteland so residents live happier, healthier lives. This funding ensures our health service and community organisations are equipped with the right technology to ease pressures and save lives.

** Community Ownership Fund
------------------------------------------------------------

The Government’s £150m Community Ownership Fund has opened its third round of applications. You can bid for up to £1 million of funding.

The money can be used to save treasured local assets across Tynedale and Ponteland, such as sports clubs, pubs, community centres, parks and much more from closure.
