John,
Last Tuesday’s election in Virginia showed just why #VOTEPROCHOICE exists:
- We directly reached 1.5 million Virginia voters to support our 24 champion candidates who are all either women and/or people of color.
- Fourteen candidates won outright (many of these races were decided with fewer than 100 votes) and a few races are still too close to call.
- The future is in the hands of the state and local elected officials and the fired-up voters who are mobilizing themselves to fight back.
Our work in Virginia proves this is the strategy we need.
Our work to endorse 2500+ state and local candidates, engage 85 million voters, and partner with 250+ other organizations in the ecosystem means we can elect progressive champions NOW in the 94,000 races on the ballot in 2023.
Help set us up for long-term success in 2024 and beyond by closing the $2109 gap in our budget by midnight tonight. We don’t want to stop. We can’t stop.
Unfortunately, we continue to see a shocking lack of meaningful investment in local and state-level strategies, and while we should be scaling up for November, we're being forced to cut back.
