I wanted to reach out quickly to give you an update on the campaign.

Tonight at midnight we face our first big public fundraising deadline since announcing my run for San Diego County Board of Supervisors.

My team has been working over time to ensure we end strong and prove we have the People behind us.

I just got an update from my finance director and we only have $524 left to raise to hit our goal – we’re so close! Can I count on you to donate before midnight tonight and help get us there?

If you know me, you know I don’t love asking for money.

I don’t like playing political games or putting campaigning above Community.

You sent me to the City to get things done and I know you’ll expect the same of me at the County.

I intend to earn your vote. I intend to prove my worth to you. And I promise to fight tooth and nail for District Four.

But the reality is – this is politics.

These fundraising numbers will send a message. And it can be a good message or a bad one.

I know our Community has always been underestimated. I know we don’t have time – or desire – to play games.

That’s why I want to hit this fundraising goal and get back to work.
