And we have to pay for it! Let's fire him.

We have a terrible

Attorney General in Missouri.

Help me fire him.

If you already know this and you'd like Missouri to have a real Attorney General who represents us, today is our quarterly fundraising deadline, and we're just a few dozen donations away from hitting 1000 total so far.

If you don't know, well, I have quite a bit to share with you.

?

I'm a former Assistant Attorney General of Missouri. As a private civil rights and government transparency attorney, I have spent the last several years fighting corruption in our government, including against our current Attorney General.

?

Our Attorney General's name is Andrew Bailey. Before he was our Attorney General, he was the Governor's lawyer. He was best known for instigating a prosecution against a reporter and a cyber security professor for letting the state know that there was a major security flaw on a state website that was transmitting teachers' Social Security Numbers to every website visitor, whether they knew it or not. I represented the professor as Andrew Bailey and the Governor sent state troopers to interrogate him and the reporter for doing the right thing. The Governor put out ads and statements calling these Missourians "hackers" and threatened them with years in prison. We were able to put an end to the sham prosecution, but not before these two men and their families suffered months of terrifying persecution from their government.

Andrew Bailey has been instrumental in gutting our Sunshine Law. His office refuses to follow our state's government transparency rules, he refuses to enforce the law against government entities that won't comply with transparency requirements, and now we get to pay almost a quarter of a million dollars because his predecessor Josh Hawley purposely violated the law to benefit his Senate campaign. Our Attorney General is nowhere to be found.

Andrew Bailey took money from illegal gambling machine companies and then withdrew the entire Attorney General's Office from representing the state against those companies. When Eric Schmitt was Attorney General, the companies that control those illegal slot machines in gas stations sued Missouri, claiming the state was harassing them for BREAKING THE LAW! You can't make this up.

?

When Andrew Bailey took over that case, he accepted campaign donations from the illegal gambling machine companies despite the clear conflict of interest. Then he acted on that conflict by recusing himself and his entire office from the case. We had to pay more money for a private attorney to represent Missouri on a quick turnaround all because, to Bailey, Missouri wasn't worth more than the thousands of dollars in donations he wanted to keep for himself.

?

And you know it's really, really bad because when Eric Schmitt was Attorney General, he received donations from these illegal gambling machine companies too. You know what he did? He returned the money!

Bailey has abused the power of his office. He is currently taking away our right to access the ballot by unilaterally holding up approving the initiative petitions to rollback Missouri's extreme abortion bans, something a judge already told him he could not do. He submits emergency decrees without emergencies that are almost identical to laws and regulations being struck down by federal courts across the country. He proudly endangers Missouri's water and does nothing to stop factory farms from pumping hundreds of thousands of gallons of waste into our rivers. He keeps innocent people in prison while refusing to do his job and defend a judgment finding that it is illegal for a plainclothes officer, without probable cause, to enter into someone's backyard and shoot them as they're parking their car.

?

We have a terrible Attorney General who has no respect for the office he holds and would rather be our king than our lawyer.

?

Missourians want an Attorney General who will sue scammers, protect our civil liberties, prosecute corruption, and return sanity to our government. I know because I've spoken to many of them all over the state. I've met with Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, and everyone in between. There's a reason why historically this is the office that can flip parties even when the rest don't: Missourians want our Attorney General to be our lawyer.

?

It's no secret what needs to happen. We need to reach disengaged voters. Far too often, campaigns focus on frequent voters who are likely to be strong supporters. We can't afford to sit back, wait until 2024, and talk to the same people over and over again. We need to reach those who are as pissed off about how crappy our government is performing as we are. We've got failing roads, failing schools, and failing health care because of our failing government.

?

I need your help bringing Missouri back. We have a growing network of over 400 volunteers already contacting voters. We are traveling all over. We are proud to be an exceedingly active statewide campaign that is leaving no one out and no one behind. But we need to invest in ways to reach new people.

?

Today is the last day of our fundraising quarter. I'm not here just to ask for money for money's sake. I'm asking you to invest in Missouri with me, to bring energy back to our state, to stand up for our kids and the great future we should have right here at home.

?

I've spent the last seven years fighting corruption in our government. Just imagine what we will get done when we take back the Attorney General's Office for the People of Missouri.

?

The programs we need to reach disengaged voters cost money, and we're just 36 donations away from hitting 1000 for the campaign. I'd love to have your help getting this done. And, if you've got ideas, you can always email me right here.
