Dreaming of Safer Migration
Our partners in Panama have a big dream: to open the only nonprofit-run migrant shelter in the country. And they need your help.
For many migrants, Panama is the dangerous part of their journey. Migrants who survive the DariƩn crossing, a deadly rainforest full of natural and criminal dangers, find little to no resources to heal after. The country's several government-run shelters are overcrowded and often lack basic necessities like food and medical attention.
The Franciscan Network for Migrants (FNM) Panama team is one of the few groups on the ground working to accompany migrants, provide humanitarian aid, and advocate for more humane policies. But they need $15,000 to open a permanent shelter for the most vulnerable migrants, such as pregnant women.
Until the end of today, all Quixote Center donations made online ([link removed]) will go towards building up the Panama team's capacity to make this project a reality. But don't worry; after today, you can simply write "Panama" in the notes of any donation made. Click HERE ([link removed]) to donate.
We thank you for joining us in the fight for safe migration.
