Friend,
My name is Carlos Cardona, and I am proud to introduce myself as the Campaign Manager for the Marianne Williamson for President campaign. I've had the pleasure of working as New Hampshire State Director since the beginning of the campaign, and I’m honored by the promotion to Campaign Manager. The New Hampshire primary is pivotal and we are putting our all into winning it.
I hope you will forgive me for writing a longer letter than the ones you usually receive, because I’d like to share my story with you – an American story no different than yours – and to tell you why I am proud to be on Team Marianne.
I was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The area where I grew up was very poor, but so rich in family experiences. I grew up near the ocean and developed a deep appreciation for nature. But we had many struggles, too. My family collected rainwater in big barrels for those times we didn’t have running water, and we often lived without electricity. My mom worked two jobs just to keep food on the table.
When I was 12 we left Puerto Rico, the only home I’d ever known, in search of a better life. We settled in Buffalo, NY – about as different an environment from the island as you could imagine. It was my first taste of city life and New England Winters.
But we didn’t leave all our struggles behind when we came to the land of opportunity.
My mom still had to work two jobs to provide for us. Our lives took another major detour when mom was diagnosed with cancer and we moved again to have access to better hospitals for her treatments.
I was 15 years old when I told my mom that I’m gay, and the news was hard for our Roman Catholic family. I left home for a time to search for a safe space to live, struggling for months with the emotional toll of coming out and this painful fracture in our family.
I’m grateful to say that all of that is behind us now, as my family came to the conclusion that love is the only thing that matters. Today my mom and I have a wonderful relationship, and she loves spending time with my children, Sofia and Jack.

I know that my story is not that different from many of yours.
Every single day in this country mothers and fathers are working multiple jobs to put food on the table, struggling to be present for their children and be able to provide for them.
Every single day, young LGBTQ people come out to families or coworkers who don’t immediately accept them (and some never find acceptance).
Every single day, immigrants leave their homes in search of better opportunities in America while struggling to be accepted in their newly adopted homeland.
There are towns and cities all across this nation that don’t have drinkable water, and our ailing infrastructure leaves many communities feeling like islands of despair, forgotten by the mainland.
I’m proud to be working with Marianne because she is the only progressive candidate in the race for the Democratic nomination, and she is the only candidate with a plan bold and visionary enough to bring about a season of economic repair for our country.
Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working for and supporting many exciting candidates. From Obama, to Hillary, to Bernie – as well as many down ballot races.
Across the many campaigns I’ve worked on, and the tens of thousands of voters I’ve spoken with, here is what I know: America cannot afford to continue to go down our current path. We need an economic u-turn and a fundamental transformation of what it means for our government to serve our people.
I joined Marianne’s team nearly a year ago when she was first considering a second run for president. I know how carefully she weighed the choice to enter this race, and I know the conviction and commitment she brings to this campaign.
Marianne speaks from the heart and from firsthand experience of a 40-year career caring for people who have been left behind by the system. We need a leader that will uphold our values and ensure Americans have healthcare, living wages, and safe housing. We need a president who will prioritize the needs of children and set them up for success as adults. As a Papa to two adorable kids, I want a president who will wake up everyday and work for a future that is worthy of their potential.
I believe with my whole heart that Marianne will be a president for ALL Americans.
I am humbled and proud to accept the challenge of leading her campaign to victory, and I hope that you will join me.
We have an incredible team of dedicated professionals who are doing everything in our power to get Marianne elected. My job is to make sure our team has all the tools and resources they need to do their work.
If you’ve been waiting to make a donation, the next few hours are so important for you to contribute. The FEC deadline at midnight tonight is an important benchmark, and we need to show the world the movement behind Marianne is strong – and it is growing.
So if you’re with me, and you support Marianne for president, please give as generously as you can today.

The next few days will be a whirlwind of events here in New Hampshire – including a visit to my hometown of Laconia, NH for our Independence Day parade!
After New Hampshire, Marianne will visit Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, L.A., and much more. Go to events.marianne2024.com [[link removed]] to find the event nearest you and join us!
I joined this campaign to fight for the future our children deserve, and to help build a transformative economy that gives every single person the chance to thrive – even a poor kid from Puerto Rico like me.
I want my daughter to know she can grow up to be anything she dares to dream – even president of the United States.
I am so grateful for this opportunity to elect the first woman president, and I hope that you will join me in building a more perfect union together.
With gratitude,
Carlos Cardona
Campaign Manager
