Legislative Update
Thank you to the Morrison County Historical Society. Their Board President Camille Warczecha and Executive Director Mike Worcester recently presented a certificate to me for the work that went into getting funding for improvements to the Weyerhaeuser Museum. I greatly appreciate this and I?m looking forward to seeing the project completed.
Several new laws take effect on July 1st along with the biennial state budget. One portion that I have worked closely on for a number of years is the border-to-border broadband program that will be continuing next year with funds being matched by the federal government. Last year?s round of grants even saw a project right here in Aitkin receive funding to bring broadband to more homes.
This weekend leads up to Independence Day on Tuesday the 4th. It is a day to reflect on the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today. From the Founding Fathers who drafted the Declaration of Independence to the soldiers who continue to defend our country today, we owe a debt of gratitude to those who have made America the land of the free and the home of the brave. I hope you will enjoy some time with your family and celebrate our great nation!
Have a great weekend!
