Earlier this week, my team and I reached out to you about our $15,000 fundraising goal and how we cannot afford to come up short. Why? Because when we close the books on our first FEC deadline of the year, we are required by law to publicly report our fundraising numbers. This is our FIRST chance to publicly report our progress and the strength and vigor this movement has behind it.
This goal was a steep one — one I wasn’t sure we could reach when my team told me the number. But this team has defied the odds before and will continue to reach new heights as long as we stand together. And you all did just that.
It started with Ronald from Chicago giving $10. Then Vanessa from Houston pitched in her $50. And Sally from Shorewood added her $100 too. And now they are counting on you to join them.
So far, this team has already made a substantial impact in races across the country — from supporting trailblazing candidates like including Judge Janet in Wisconsin and Lashrecese Aird in Virginia to supporting candidates that will expand our Senate Majority like Colin Allred in Texas and Ruben Gallego in Arizona.
But the stakes in 2024 are high, and these campaigns will need much more funding and support than ever before.
And that’s where we come in. Because if we have your support, we can help strengthen change-making candidates from the get-go, so they have the funding to invest in the backbone of their campaign — whether that be organizing efforts, TV ads, GOTV, or rallies. And the more funding they have, the more voters they can engage.
So our work is critical to the success of many campaigns and we cannot leave any stone unturned.
Before we reach our first FEC deadline at midnight tonight, I am asking once more:
