Wildlife health lab tests over 6,000 CWD samples in 2022

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department?s Wildlife Health Laboratory tested 6,701 samples from big game animals for chronic wasting disease (CWD) in 2022. Testing was completed earlier this year?on?samples?that?were?submitted from?across?the state.?CWD was not detected in 5,875 samples and 826 samples were positive.

Game and Fish opens public comment on three chapters

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has opened a comment period and will be holding public meetings across the state to gather input on proposed changes to the following regulations:

• Chapter 2, General Hunting Regulation
• Chapter 28, Regulation Governing Big or Trophy Game Animal or Game Bird or Gray Wolf Damage Claims
• Chapter 42, Mountain Lion Hunting Seasons

CWD found in new Wyoming deer hunt area

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has confirmed the presence of chronic wasting disease in Deer Hunt Area 131. The disease was detected in a targeted mule deer buck near Rock Springs that was euthanized by wildlife managers in late April.

Gov. Gordon announces wild bison license raffle winner
