John,
About a year ago, I was sitting at the same clinic where I had an abortion as a teenager after a violent sexual assault. I was hosting a roundtable with the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services to discuss the importance of nationwide access to reproductive health care.
There, we learned that the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade, and minutes later, Missouri became the first state to enact its trigger ban and outlaw abortion care.
This is personal for me. Because of my lived experiences, I understand how urgently our communities need transformational change, including expanding our reproductive rights. So I’m leading in Congress to achieve reproductive justice for everyone who calls this country home.
Can you chip in $5 before Friday’s end-of-quarter fundraising deadline to show the strength of our national movement for change and to send me back to Congress to keep pushing for equitable access to abortion care for every person who needs it?

In the year since the far-right Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, 14 states including Missouri have banned abortion care.
Many people now have to travel hundreds of miles to get to the nearest available clinic for lifesaving care. And our most marginalized community members face the most challenges with getting time off or paying for travel expenses -- including people who are low-income, LGBTQ+, disabled, Black, brown, or Indigenous.
I’ve lived this, having faced systemic racism and financial barriers when I needed an abortion myself, even when Roe v. Wade was still in place.
So in addition to bills I’ve introduced previously like the Protecting Access to Medication Abortion Act and the Reproductive Health Care Accessibility Act, I’ve introduced three bills in the past week to remove barriers for those in need of abortion care, and to help cover expenses for abortion seekers -- such as travel, childcare, lodging, meals, lost wages, doula care, translation services, and more.
The Reproductive Health Travel Fund Act would provide grant assistance for those who travel long distances to receive reproductive health care, including abortion care.
The Protect Sexual and Reproductive Health Act would remove federal barriers to reproductive autonomy, and use a whole-of-government, interagency approach to provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care.
And the Abortion Justice Act would require insurance coverage to include abortion care, protect people from criminalization, and remove disparities and barriers to care based on race and immigration status.
We all have the right to make decisions about our own bodies, and with an undemocratic Supreme Court taking away those fundamental rights, Congress has a moral obligation to ensure federally protected access to safe and affordable abortion services and reproductive health care.
Please donate today, before the June 30th fundraising deadline, so we can keep leading in Congress for the transformational changes we need to achieve true reproductive justice.
