Today, I want to emphasize an essential aspect of our democratic principles: the 26th Amendment.

The 26th Amendment to the United States Constitution, ratified on July 1, 1971, lowered the voting age from 21 to 18. It was a monumental step towards granting young adults the right to participate in the democratic process and have their voices heard. This amendment not only recognized the inherent value of young people's opinions but also acknowledged their vital role in shaping our future.

As the only candidate for Mayor under the age of 45, my candidacy reflects the will and desire of generations of Memphians, who are striving to make a better future for themselves and their families.  

Throughout my campaign, I have had the privilege of engaging with young voters, listening to their concerns, and working together to find solutions that address their needs. I am committed to creating opportunities for our youth, whether it be through accessible education, job training programs, or mentorship initiatives. Together, we can foster an environment where every young Memphian feels empowered to contribute and succeed.
