John, I want to talk to you about my friend and colleague Abigail Spanberger. Abigail has represented Virginia's 7th District ever since she flipped it back in 2018 -- after over 30 years of Republican control.
Last year, Abigail’s race was the closest congressional contest in Virginia for a Democrat-won seat, and it’s expected to be just as competitive this time around. We can’t take anything for granted.

Abigail has been essential to passing historic legislation that’s making a difference in the lives of Virginians and Americans across the country.
Without Abigail, we wouldn’t have been able to pass the bipartisan infrastructure deal to fix our roads and bridges, expand access to broadband, and improve access to clean drinking water.
Without her, we wouldn’t have been able to pass the Inflation Reduction Act and lower the cost of prescription drugs and cap the cost of insulin for people on Medicare.
And without her, we wouldn’t have been able to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act -- the first new gun violence prevention law in decades.
We can get even more done, but we need to flip the House, and to do that, John, we need to win battleground races like Abigail’s.
