Hi John,

In a moment, I’m going to ask you to make a donation to my campaign. But before I do, I want to explain why your contribution is so important.

The truth is, running for Congress is not a glamorous affair. Many of us have this patriotic impression that all it takes to run for office is a passion for public service and a good handshake – but that’s not the world we live in.

The truth is, campaigning takes money – a lot of it.

It costs money to afford to travel all around the 1st District, visiting voters and pounding the pavement (or the dirt roads!).

It takes money to hire campaign staff and set up field offices – especially in a district as large as ours.

And it’s going to take a lot of money to buy advertisements on TV and the internet in order to spread our message and unseat Rep. Jack Bergman.

I’m running for Congress because Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula deserve a representative who will work for us – but I can’t do it alone.

So John, can you chip in before midnight tomorrow to help fund this campaign?

If you’ve lived here long (unlike Rep. Bergman), you know that us Midwesterners don’t like asking for help – especially in the form of money.

But if we want a representative who actually understands the 1st District, it’s going to take all of us working together to unseat Jack Bergman and elect someone with true Northern Michigan roots.

Right now, that means chipping in before our End-of-Quarter deadline.

Thank you for your continued support of this campaign – and we’ll have more updates for you soon.

Gratefully,

Callie
