"Peace is not only the absence of war. As long as there is poverty, racism, discrimination and exclusion, we'll be hard-pressed to achieve a world of peace." Rigoberta Menchú

BREAKING NEWS: We are glad to announce a lawsuit win over the Mexican Institute of Migration and Mexican soldiers. With this important legal victory, they cannot continue asking for identification or performing raids 50 meters from the migrant shelters. Said raids were being conducted in front of Embajada Migrante and Border Angels Office in Playas, among other shelters.

We now have the legal protection thanks to the efforts of Mexican attorney at law Graciela Zamudio, Alma Migrante Org, compañer@s at Embajadores de Jesus and our support from Border Angels Baja. This is also a moral victory against oppressive government action to those seeking support and protection.

Congratulations to all who made this victory possible, especially to the unparalleled work of Baja California Director Hugo Castro who conducted interviews among those involved and provided the documentation of 14 evidential videos!

3 Women Died Trying to Cross the U.S.-Mexico Border After Getting LostMembers of the group were suffering from hypothermia and called 911.

By Paul Blest

“The deaths that happen in the deserts and mountains, Border Patrol always says it’s a ‘tragic loss of life,’ but that’s really hard for us on the ground to accept considering this is an intended effect of their policies and actions,” Jacqueline Arellano, a co-director of the water drop program for the advocacy group Border Angels, told VICE News. “People wouldn’t have to go through this rugged terrain if the policies weren’t maintained."
