Hi John,
I don’t know about you but, earlier this month, I was incensed when Republicans in the House — once again — proposed major cuts to Social Security benefits.
Over 170 House Republicans somehow came to the conclusion that increasing the retirement age and reducing lifetime payouts is beneficial for the American people.
Plain as day, they are gaslighting us by incorrectly calling Social Security an “entitlement” instead of what it actually is: financial security earned by retirees who have worked hard for and paid into their entire lives. Give me a break!
This is just the “first step” as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy calls it in Republicans’ broader agenda that includes even further reductions, in addition to their plan to force Americans to work longer for less.
Make no mistake, Republicans will continue to put our livelihoods on the line, whether that’s reducing Social Security, cutting Medicaid or ending reproductive freedom.
As a team, we must show them our strength and determination to defend our livelihoods and vote Republicans out of their House majority.
