400+ years of chattel slavery, Jim Crow, and systemic racism and yet THIS is where the Supreme Court lands:
Look, John: We knew sooner or later that the good news we’d been getting from the Supreme Court would come to an end and they’d return to their regularly scheduled programming of institutionalizing racism.
Race has and always WILL be a factor in the country built upon the constructs of white supremacy. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson said it best in her dissent:
Today is yet another reminder of WHY it is so important to fix the severe underrepresentation of Black communities in public office. Today is a reminder of why we need to elect a Black woman to the Senate.
