John—
On Tuesday, we wrapped up our first annual Community Violence Intervention Conference. Over two days, we hosted more than 600 leading experts, advocates, and practitioners in Los Angeles, and we’re already counting down to next year’s conference.
Community violence is one of the most prevalent drivers of gun violence in America, and intervention strategies are crucial to combating this crisis, which disproportionately affects communities of color. Our goal for the conference was to create a space devoted to advancing the violence intervention field—and through a range of activities, including trainings, workshops, and panel discussions, we did just that.
