What a year we’ve had here at Independent Institute!

I know my colleagues Dr. Robert Whaples and Mary Theroux have already written to you about some of our fantastic highlights. To recap: we’ve published some great books ([link removed]) , won awards ([link removed]) , and most importantly, honored our mission to boldly advance a more peaceful, prosperous, and free society grounded in a commitment to human worth and dignity.

But our work is far from over.

Immense challenges lie ahead—not only for Americans but for all who wish to see a more peaceful and prosperous world. War rages overseas; inflation and misguided economic policies eat away at wages and savings; and destructive ideologies poison the minds of young and old alike.

Our staff, fellows, and researchers are committed to pushing back against these obstacles. We specialize in research, not rant. We strive to set our compass by facts and ethics, not ideology. We firmly believe that a better world is possible, when good people understand how things work and when they recognize the primacy of liberty.

Here at the Independent Institute, we draw together academics and active citizens, who bring a wide range of research interests with them—on subjects that matter to everyone, not just to academics.

Why do they choose to come to us with their talent, passion, and willingness to make this world a better place?
