Going to the movies is officially back, and if you’ve been holding out heading out to the land of popcorn and overpriced soda pop, it’s time to saddle-up and hit up Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. This might not be the movie where you bring the kids, but for date night, you really don’t want to wait for streaming for this one.

Why go see Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny ([link removed]) in the theater? Well, this movie is very much made for a certain generation of parents. Yes, there’s some nostalgia throwback stuff to those wonderful ‘80s Indy movies we always loved. But, considering the first flashback in Dial of Destiny takes place in 1944, it’s worth remembering that 42 years have passed since the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark. As a cultural artifact, Indiana Jones isn’t really about the 40s or the 50s or the 60s. With Harrison Ford’s big comeback to the character, the movie is very clearly about us. And you gotta experience that on the big screen.

Word of warning: Leave your fanboy baggage at the door. If you want a movie that ticks all the boxes, Dial of Destiny will make you happy. But it also gives you something extra, a big emotional punch in the gut that you might not be ready for. For those parents who love this everyday, relatable hero, this movie will give you some very big feelings.
