The Livestrong Loop - June 2023
Today, we recognize President, CEO, and three-time cancer survivor, Greg Lee, as he retires from his 17-year tenure at Livestrong. Greg's tireless efforts have significantly advanced the foundation's mission to solve everyday cancer problems for survivors and their loved ones.
Greg is known for his dedication to the Livestrong community and never missed an opportunity to bike or run alongside other survivors. He leaves a legacy of excellence at Livestrong, and while the Board of Directors is conducting an executive search to fill this leadership role, Suzanne Stone, former chief strategic solutions and programs officer, will serve as interim president. She is supported by a dedicated staff that continues to work on behalf of Livestrong and its mission.
Greg will use his retirement to volunteer at his church, hit the golf course, and spend more time with his beloved wife and two grown children. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Greg for being an unwavering advocate for cancer survivors for 17 years.

INTERVIEW WITH KRISTIN, LIVESTRONG AMBASSADOR
2 in 5 Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. While it’s likely that all of us know someone that has a cancer story, it can be hard to know how to support your friends and loved ones who are on this journey.
Kristin L. has been a Livestrong Ambassador for nearly a decade, serving as a Livestrong at the YMCA instructor, volunteer cancer advocate on Capitol Hill, and dedicated fundraiser. She shared her top tips on engaging ways to support cancer services while doing what you love. For Kristin, a fitness and yoga instructor, that included a Yoga and Beer gathering benefiting Livestrong!

HB 1649: A WIN FOR SURVIVORS
The Medically Necessary Fertility Preservation Act passed in our home state of Texas this month! After working on this issue for over six years, we are thrilled that this bill has become law. This law will require state regulated health benefit plans to cover fertility preservation services for patients receiving medically necessary treatment (such as chemo) which may impair fertility in adolescents and young adults.
