On *Tuesday*,First Lady Fran DeWine launched the Ohio Governor's Imagination Library Program in Franklin County. In Franklin County, 83,000 children -- from birth to age 5 -- are eligible to receive a free, new book once a month, which will be mailed to the child's home.

Also on*Tuesday*, Lt. Governor Husted spoke to leaders of Ohios Electric Cooperatives during their winter conference. During his remarks, he highlighted Ohios new, comprehensive broadband strategy to coordinate federal, state, local, and private resources to expand access to people in Ohio who have been left behind. Also on*Wednesday*, Lt. Governor Husted spoke at the ChooseOhio First Scholar Showcase [ [link removed] ]. The Choose Ohio First Scholarship was founded by then Speaker Husted. The showcase itself is now in its eleventh year and gives the students, all of whom are studying science, technology, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM), a chance to showcase their work and research

On *Thursday*, Governor DeWine announced details of a new bill that will strengthen Ohio's laws regarding the use of wireless devices, including smartphones, while driving.
The Hands-Free Ohio bill will make driving while handling anyelectronic wireless device a primary offense. This includes, but is not limited to,writing, sending, or reading text-based communications; watching or recording videos; taking photos or looking at images; livestreaming; using apps; entering information into GPS navigation programs; dialing phone numbers; or holding a device for a phone call.

On *Thursday,*Lt. Governor Husted announced that InnovateOhio and the Common Sense Initiative (CSI-Ohio) have collaborated to launch the use of a new artificial intelligence tool [ [link removed] ] (AI) that will modernize Ohios regulatory reform efforts. A 2018 report from the Mercatus Center at George Mason University estimated that Ohio currently has over 240,000 regulations that would take a person 21 weeks to read. The new AI tool will accomplish in seconds what human researchers would formerly spend days or weeks to understand, giving new speed to Ohios regulation-cutting work.
