Our Executive Director, Matt Vallière, writes about the failed attempts at legalizing assisted suicide across many states during this legislative session and describes the lawsuit filed in California to remove the assisted suicide laws there. ** When Death Is the Best Choice, Is It a Choice at All?

** People with Intellectual Disabilities Euthanized in the Netherlands
------------------------------------------------------------

In a Kingston University study, researchers found that out of a sample size of 900 people who were euthanized over a 10-year period, 39 of these people had autism or an intellectual disability. Since this is only a sample size, the data may be much more steep. Intellectual disability should not be a reason to die, but a reason to receive the care and support that every human deserves.
