The Center for New Liberalism was founded in 2017 as a home for a center-left that felt alienated by the rise of extreme populist groups and ideologies around the world. Since then, we’ve expanded to have over 70 chapters, tens of thousands of members, and a media reach that extends to millions of people per month. 

Today, we’re excited to announce the next step in our mission of building a center-left grassroots movement of New Liberals by officially announcing that we have joined New Democracy, a leading center-left civic engagement and educational organization for supporting pragmatic, center-left Democratic ideas and candidates at all levels of government. 

As we’ve grown as an organization, and as our chapters have grown in the communities they operate within, we’ve recognized a need for our chapters to have greater freedom in their political activities. As part of New Democracy, our chapters will be able to engage directly in political debates and contests by being able to endorse, support, and organize for candidates and issues that advance a new liberal agenda in their communities.

Our time as part of the Progressive Policy Institute has been pivotal for us, and we look forward to continuing to use PPI’s radically pragmatic ideas for moving the world beyond ideological and partisan deadlock to guide our own policy agenda. 

We are excited to continue to support the center-left around the world and look forward to seeing our chapters use this transition to make an even greater impact in their communities.
