Dear Friend,
During this past Immigrant Heritage Month we are grateful for each and every individual who has donated in honor of the hope and dreams of the immigrant children we serve. Thanks to our community of supporters, we have met our challenge match goal and have raised over $130,000! With just days left in the month, we are in the homestretch. Can you help us meet our increased goal to raise $10,000 more dollars?
We’ve just released our 2022 Annual Impact Report, and I’m excited to share how your support empowers the Young Center’s fight on behalf of every child and every family harmed by policies and practices that deny their rights, fuel family separation, and jeopardize their safety. Without you, many of our achievements in the past year would not have been possible:
- With the support of nearly 400 Child Advocate volunteers, across 19 states, we served 1,643 unaccompanied children from 45 different countries.
- Among 20 policy recommendations and 4 bills introduced, our Policy team spearheaded the introduction of the Children’s Safe Welcome Act, a landmark congressional bill that aims to expand protections for unaccompanied children.
- Our newly launched Technical Assistance Program responded to 45 requests to provide case consultations and training to professionals and court advocates who serve the growing number of immigrant children caught between the federal immigration system and state court systems.
These highlights are just brief examples of your contributions in action. From systemic change to direct service, each piece is a step that shapes a way to on the path to justice, guided by your ally-ship. You can read more about our achievements in our newly released Annual Report.
Join us in 2023. The fight for justice on behalf of immigrant children and youth is far from over. At the Young Center, we will not waver in our commitment to defend and advocate for their rights and best interests. All children belong with their families and deserve to live safe and thriving lives. That is the world for which we stand. With you in our corner, we can continue to carry forward this urgent work.
