Team — An anti-immigrant law is about to go into effect in Florida.
On July 1st, SB 1718 will go into effect in Florida as one of the harshest anti-immigrant laws in the country. That’s why we’re stepping up to protect our communities.
We’re hosting webinars, encouraging people to make a safety plan, and sharing “Know Your Rights” content to make sure Florida immigrants are equipped with the information they need once this targeted law goes into effect.

Under SB 1718 in Florida:
- Entering into Florida with someone who’s undocumented will become a crime
- Emergency rooms and hospitals will be required to ask for data on patients’ immigration statuses
- Local governments are no longer allowed to provide funds for community IDs
- Expanded use of the flawed E-Verify system will infringe on people’s right to work
As extreme Republican-led states continue to attack and scapegoat immigrant communities with cruel laws like this, we need to protect each other.
In Florida and beyond, we’re reaching immigrant communities to make sure they have all the info they need to thrive. From our revamped “Know Your Rights” campaign to the webinars we’re hosting, our resources are intended to make sure everyone can continue living their lives freely.
