Dear Partners,
Today, was an incredible win for individuals and families alike! A federal appeals court panel in Washington upheld a lower court’s decision that blocked the Trump administration’s Work Requirements for Medicaid recipients.
A bi-partisan, three judge panel in a unanimous ruling said HHS didn't have the authority to require some Medicaid enrollees to work in order to receive coverage. HHS "effectively rewrote" federal Medicaid law to approve work rules in those states, ignoring the program's core purpose of providing health insurance to poor people.
