Meet Renee.

I met Renee many years ago when a friend introduced us and asked me to advise her regarding the unfolding tragedy upon learning of her 11-year-old son’s secret addiction to online pornography. We became fast friends as I was able to walk alongside her through what would be a long journey of healing and recovery for her son. 
 
She bravely shared her family’s story for the production of Enough Is Enough's Internet Safety 101 program a number of years ago. 
 
I know you will be truly inspired by her bravery in telling me her story including the shocking lengths her 11-year-old went to in his quest to access internet pornography which Renee had blocked, to the inspiring hope the family went through together to bring their beloved son into long-lasting healing and wholeness.

I urge you to take a few minutes to view this powerful video as this brave, mother-turned-advocate shares details of her harrowing experience so that other parents will be better equipped to protect their own sons and daughters in the digital world.
Did You Know...

  • 75% of teenagers have viewed pornography by age 17
  • Average age of first exposure to pornography is age 12
  • 41% of teenagers say they've seen images of nudity or sexual acts online during the school day (bypassing existing WiFi filtering)
  • 58% say they came across the pornography by accident while browsing the internet or on social media
  • More than half of those ages 13 to 17 viewed violent pornography (rape, choking, someone in pain)

I am happy to share with you that Renee’s son is one of the fortunate ones. He is grown now and thankfully living a happy, healthy life in recovery. But there are many, many children who aren’t so lucky.
