Katie Porter here. In a recent TV interview, I was asked if I had the fundraising power needed to run statewide here in California.
People are wondering if our team has the strength to go the distance because last quarter we were outraised by two million dollars. It’s not because our opponent has thousands more supporters. We pulled in more money than any other candidate in small-dollar donations, but because of big checks and "max-out" contributions, he outraised us.
And because I don’t take a dime from corporate PACs, federal lobbyists, or Big Oil, Big Pharma, or Big Bank CEOs, some have said we don’t have a chance of catching up.

Or, donate another amount.
One of my favorite campaign activities is calling our grassroots supporters at random and saying thank you -- getting to hear from the baristas and teachers and electricians who power our campaign, giving what they can, when they can.
Our campaign’s fundraising is operating in a way that might be unique, and that’s because I’m not just another career politician in Washington. I’m a single mom who ran for office when Trump came to power -- and I’m here to shake up the status quo, hold corporations accountable, and deliver for working people.
Thanks so much,
-- Katie
