I just got out of a meeting with my campaign team and I want to share a few takeaways with you. As you read, I hope you’ll consider donating with this link [[link removed]] .

Here’s where we stand: As of today, we are only 3 days away from our second end-of-quarter deadline when we have to submit our fundraising numbers to the FEC. Based on what has come in through ActBlue, we are still over $18,000 away from our goal.

Why this matters: Republicans have not been shy about the fact that they want to flip my seat. That’s why I was listed at the top of Kevin McCarthy’s target list and the NRCC has already spent five figures on attack ads against me. They’ve even called me “California’s most vulnerable Democrat.” If we lose this seat, we lose the House again. It’s that simple.

What decisions we need to make: After this deadline, we will have to make some major decisions about how many staff we can add to our team (including hiring a new Field Director) and how much we can put behind our digital ads to fight back against the GOP’s attacks. It all is going to depend on how much we can raise before the deadline on Friday.

Other considerations: Dark money is always a huge threat in this toss-up seat. I’m one of the few members of Congress who doesn’t take a dime of corporate PAC money (and actually sticks to it!) but I need your help to match the Republicans dollar for dollar to combat their onslaught of ads. If they spend $500,000 against us, we have to spend $500,000 back.

What I need from you: Well, I need your help to get us closer to our end-of-quarter goal before the end of the day. We’re still over $18,000 behind and if we fall short, the Republicans are going to double down on their attacks against me. And we won’t be able to get our field organizing started or have enough resources to fight back against these negative ads.

That’s why I’m asking you to please rush in the biggest donation you possibly can today. Without your support, there’s no way we’re going to be able to reach this goal.
